Quality Assurance and Testing

2) Why do I want testing separately? Can't the programmers test their codes themselves?

Programmers' job is to write codes, whereas the job of testers is to point out the mistakes or bugs in the application developed by programmer and arrange to fix them. Often programmers check their own faults, but mistakes happen unconsciously. If the bugs are not fixed sooner the results can be terrible and can mess up your company's reputation. So, it's always better for a second person, especially qualified and competent, to see through your application; this is a vital part of ensuring quality!
